ISRO’s historic 100th launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre.
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its 100th rocket mission, launching the navigation satellite NVS-02 into Geosynchronous orbit. The launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota marked a historic milestone for the country’s space program and ISRO. The mission was to inject the NVS-02 satellite into a Geosynchronous orbit, onboard the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F15). This was ISRO’s first launch of the 2025 under the leadership of its new chairman, V Narayanan. PM Modi has congratulate the nation and ISRO for this historic achievement.
Union cabinet approves Rs 16,300-cr National Critical Minerals Mission
The Union cabinet, chaired by Prime minister Narendra Modi approved a Rs 16,300 crore National Critical Minerals Mission (NCMM) to promote exploration of critical minerals within the country and at offshore locations. Most of the critical mineral are mostly imported so, the mission aims to reduce the dependence on import of critical minerals and ensure self-reliance. The NCMM will cover the value chain, including mineral exploration, mining, beneficiation, processing, and recovery from end of life products. This mission will also help to create a fast track approval for mining projects, and will offer financial incentives for critical mineral exploration.
Tata Electronics acquire 60% stake in Pegatron local arm for iPhone plant.
Tata Electronics said, it has bought a 60 per cent stake in Taiwan based i phone manufacturer Pegatron’s India, to fulfill the Tata group position as an Apple manufacturer in a fast growing market. The stake acquisition in Pegatron Technology India is for Apple Inc’s iPhone plant near the city of Chennai. The iPhone manufacturing plant’s acquisition, comes amid, Apple Inc’s efforts to diversify its supply chain beyond China. The company will now have two plants in Tamilnadu and Karnataka. Tata electronics took over Taiwan based Wistron last year.
66 million year old fish vomit, discovered in Denmark
A fossilised fish vomit, has been discovered in Denmark offering scientists a understanding the prehistoric food chains and ecosystems. The fossil presume dating back to the age of the dinosaurs. The discovery was made by Peter Bennicke, a local fossil hunter, at Stevns Klint, a UNESCO listed coastal cliff. The ancient vomit is believed to have been regurgitated by marine life around 66 million years ago, during the Cretaceous period. These piece were later identified as pieces of sea lily, an underwater species related to starfish and sea urchins.

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the 38th National Games in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It was the 25th year of the formation of Uttarakhand, the event displayed a beautiful picture of ‘Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat’. The Prime Minister recently inaugurated the 5th edition of the Khelo India Winter Games in Ladakh. PM highlighted that India is making significant efforts to host the 2036 Olympics.
