ISRO is going to add new launchpad at Sriharikota.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is going to get a third launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. Third launch pad will give a major boost for its future deep space missions. This new facility will serve as a crucial support to ISRO’s ambitious future missions, including the New Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV) programme. The NGLV is a programme by the ISRO to develop a new rocket to launch satellites, spacecraft to establish and operate the Bharatiya Antariksh Station and help India to land a crew on the moon by 2040.
C-DOT and IIT Bombay jointly to develop Indigenous 6G Optical Chipset.
India is making significant moves in next-generation telecom technology, with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) and the IIT Bombay signing an agreement for the development of an “Optical Transceiver Chipset for High-Bandwidth 6G Wireless Links.” This initiative, under the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) 6G Call for Proposals by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), aims to strengthen India’s leadership in 6G innovation and deployment by 2030.
India’s economic growth rate projected 6.7%: World Bank
India is projected to a growth rate of 6.7% in both FY25-26 and FY26-27, according to the World Bank’s latest Global Economic Prospects (GEP) report, outpacing a global growth projection of 2.7% for 2025-26. The GEP report attributes India’s robust growth to a thriving services sector and sustain its position as one of the fastest growing economy in the world. China’s growth slows to 4% next year, India’s ascent represents not just an economic milestone but a powerful narrative of innovation, ambition, and potential. emerging markets and developing economies now account for 45% of global GDP, up from 25% at the start of the century.
Cabinet Approves ₹11,440 Crore for Revival of Debt-Ridden RINL.
The Union Cabinet has approved Rs 11,440 crore package to revive debt laden public sector undertaking Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), or Vizag Steel Plant. This revival package will help many of the legacy problems that RINL used to face will be resolved, confirmed Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw. The infusion includes Rs 10,300 crore as equity capital into RINL and Conversion of Rs 11,440 crore working capital. RINL operates the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), the only offshore steel plant under the government sector in Andhra Pradesh.
Justice Arun Mishra appointed as New Ombudsman of BCCI
Former Supreme Court judge Justice Arun Mishra has been appointed as the Ombudsman and Ethics Officer of the BCCI. He was elected as the youngest Chairman of the Bar Council of India in 1998-99. He is fourth BCCI Ombudsman. Previous BCCI Ombudsman was Justice Vineet Saran. Mr. Mishra was elected as the youngest Chairman of the Bar Council of India in 1998-99. Prabhtej Singh Bhatia was elected as the Treasurer of the Indian Cricket Board. Roger Binny is the incumbent BCCI president and Devajit Saikia is the secretary of BCCI.
