Argentina Pulls Out from WHO, After USA.

Argentina’s President, Javier Milei, ordered the country’s exit from World Health Organization (WHO), following a similar move by the United States under President Donald Trump. Milei described as “deep differences” regarding the WHO’s management of health issues, specially during Covid-19. He also raised concerns about the WHO’s lack of independence from the political influence of world power’s.

RBI cuts repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25% after 5 years.

The Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) cut the repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25 per cent. This is the first rate cut initiated by the RBI in five years, after May 2020. The repo rate, now is at 6.5 per cent. The RBI’s MPC composed of six member, lowered the repo rate in a bid to stimulate economic activity by making borrowing cheaper, encouraging spending and investment. The MPC, decided to continue with its “neutral” stance for the economy. MPC will continue to improve the macro-economic outcomes in the best interest of the economy.

Fort William at kolkata, will be known as ‘Vijay Durg’

The Army has renamed Kolkata’s Fort William, as ‘Vijay Durg’, once it was the headquarters of its Eastern Command. This is a major move towards remove colonial imprints from the Indian historical footprint. The historic Fort was built in the year 1781 and was named after King William III of England. Kitchener House inside Fort William has been renamed as Manekshaw House, and South gate, formerly known as St. George’s Gate, is now Shivaji Gate. ‘Vijay Durg’, the name is derived from the fort along the Sindhudurg coast in Maharashtra and served as a naval base during Chhatrapati Shivaji.

ISRO Unveiled Finite Element Analysis of Structures software at IIT-Hyderabad

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman V Narayan unveiled the latest version of Finite Element Analysis of Structures (FEAST) software at the 8th meeting at IIT-Hyderabad. The software developed by ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), FEAST software is a structural analysis software based on finite element method used for analysing the behaviour of structures under various kinds of loads.
