International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) has eshtablished.

International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) has officially come into force under a treaty based inter-governmental international organization and international legal entity. The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed that five countries – Republic of Nicaragua, Kingdom of Eswatini, Republic of India, Federal Republic of Somalia and Republic of Liberia, have deposited the instruments of acceptance/approval, of the Framework Agreement. The IBCA was launched by PM Modi on 9th April,2023. The Union Cabinet, in its meeting held on 29th February 2024, approved the establishment of IBCA with headquarters in India.

Sri-lanka Witnessing worst defletion Since 1960.

Sri Lanka’s consumer prices fell by 4.0 percent, the highest deflation rate since July 1960. Inflation hit a record 69.8 percent in 2022 during economic crisis, but the scenario has altered now. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has commited to maintain the IMF bailout programme that includes higher taxes and cuts to state spending. The central bank said inflation was likely to return to its target level of five percent in the coming months.

CZA Approved India’s First White Tiger Breeding Center In MP.

The Central Zoo Authority (CZA) has approved India’s first white tiger breeding centre in Madhya Pradesh. Central government has given in-principle approval for this project in 2011. The breeding centre will come up in Govindgarh, Rewa district of MP. The state’s only white tiger safari is nearly 10km away, in Mukundpur. The breeding centre is evidence that the MP govt remains dedicated to biodiversity conservation, said deputy CM Rajendra Shukla.
